This book will inspire professionals and amateurs in landscape and garden design. It presents work by 50 landscape and garden design companies large and small, from around the world. Those profiled were chosen for being significant, distinctive, and innovative, and most of the examples displayed in the book's colour photos and plans have been completed in the past 10 years.

Five essays reflect on current trends in the outdoor-space design, such as landscape urbanism and the resurgence of landform as a design genre, and speculate on the future of landscape design.
