Double Collar Jacket

Christine Jonson Patterns

Semi-fitted, shapely, princess seam jacket with length and collar variations. Jackets that are very fitted look best when buttoned. Christine worked out the long version of this jacket first and soon realized that when it was unbuttoned it wanted to sit back on the shoulders, so the first design change made to the pattern was to bring the shoulder seam forward. Next, she brought up the neckline to sit a bit higher on the back of the neck and a bit closer at sides. These two changes make all the difference in the way the jacket sits on the shoulders. The armhole and sleeve cap are close fitting, again to keep the shape of the jacket intact. The rest of the fitting of the jacket is done using very curvy, long seams.
The double collar is a fun option. There are many fitting opportunities offered in making this jacket. Show off your curves no matter what size you are in the most flattering ways possible.
Suggested Fabrics: This jacket can be made in a variety of fabrics including linens, wools and coating fabrics! Woven fabrics with substance and body highlight the shape of this jacket. Suit and jacket weight woven fabrics including, but not limited to, linen, cotton, wool, wool blends, LYCRA-blend wovens, crepe, and home-dec fabrics.
Multi-sized: 4 - 22
